Rex, a good friend of mine, took me and Robert to dinner sometime last year. Yes, this is yet again another long overdue blog update. It was his birthday. We’re supposed to have steak at Bubba Gump’s but we changed our minds and decided to go with Buffet 101 International Cuisine instead, which I thought was a good idea since we both love to eat a lot.

Our Kirstyn is a big reader. She and I both love books and reading. So Hubby decided to get her a book-inspired cake. Hubby ordered it through Lina's Custom Cakes (visit her facebook page, she’s amazing). Isn’t this the cutest cake ever? Talk about devouring a book – literally! My mouth actually watered just looking at this cake. I'd also like to have one on my birthday. Ha-ha!
Have a wonderful day. J

It’s been months since hubby and I have been working on my spousal visa going to the US. Yes, we finally decided that it is about time for us to live together — after being away from each other for 3 years (total of 6 years since we started our relationship). And now that we finally got my interview date, I started working on the additional requirements needed for my interview.
Medical exam, I believe, is one of the most important parts of the whole immigration process. The US is very careful when it comes to the health of the people going in and out of their country, which I believe is for the common good of everyone.
Before I start telling you my experience, I want to remind everyone that the US Embassy only accredits medical examination from St. Luke’s Medical Center Extension Clinic. NO, you cannot have your medical tests done elsewhere.

It’s not really surprising that I am crazy over Korean food and culture, as some of your know how addicted I am with Korean dramas. Whenever I get a chance, I always try to eat out or search for a new Korean restaurant in my area. Kaya Korean Restaurant is not new, though I have tried their food through Food Panda delivery a couple of times, I still want to dine here just to check what my other options are…and freshly cooked food tastes slightly better than those delivered ones.

Hello there. How’s your 2016 going? Today I am posting a general response to the question I’m asked most: what’s your favorite Korean drama in 2015? I’ve answered that question timidly most of the time, but today seemed like an appropriate time to finally hash it out.

I honestly had a hard time putting together my top 10 list. 2015 has been fascinating year for Korean Dramas. You have no idea how many times I’ve changed this list – swapping this drama for that, moving this drama up or down the list a few notches – as I look back with all the dramas I’ve watched in 2015, indecisiveness took hold. But don’t worry you guys, I got it together. I love a lot of dramas last year, and I could’ve easily expanded this list to Top 20, but I want to stick with Top 10 that I am quite happy with. So without further ado, I present to you my Top 10 (favorite) Korean dramas of 2015.
10. Mrs. Cop
Kim Hee Ae as Choi Young Jin
Kim Min Jong as Park Jong Ho
Lee Da Hee as Min Do Young
Son Ho Joon as Han Jin Woo
My Short Review: Mrs. Cop is a solid cop drama. I love Kim Hee Ae’s character – smart, strong, admirable woman who sticks to her principle and a good leader who truly earns the respect of her team. The plot was satisfying. There are flaws along the way, but I ignored them as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey with our cops. I love how the team are perfectly balanced and work together seamlessly. They always get the job done. And we got some kissing, that’s all I asked for. Haha!
9. She Was Pretty
Hwang Jung Eum as Kim Hye Jin / Jackson
Park Seo Joon as Ji Sung Joon
Go Joon Hee as Min Ha Ri
Choi Shi Won as Kim Shin Hyuk
My Short Review: This drama is sweet, light and funny. Plot-wise, it was so-so, but I like how things turned out. The satisfying finale was also a plus. But I truly wish, in my dreams, that second lead would be given a chance to live a happy life as well. But you know what’s funny? It is when you realize that the supporting characters have better stories than the main leads, except they don’t get a happy ending. Well, I wasn’t saying the leads were bad; I was referring to the story line. Enough with my whining! I still highly recommend this drama.
Joo Won as Kim Tae Hyun
Kim Tae Hee as Han Yeo Jin
Jo Hyun Jae as Han Do Joon
Chae Jung Ahn as Lee Chae Young
Choi Ji Woo as Ha No Ra (38)
Lee Sang Yoon as Cha Hyun Suk (38)
Choi Won Young as Kim Woo Chul (43)
Kim Min Jae as Kim Min Soo (20)
Son Na Eun as Oh Hye Mi (20)
My Short Review: There were flaws in the story but who cares, its ’s drama! Lol Kidding aside, I love this drama, not just because I love the leads but also the story is heartwarming. I appreciate how it shows and centers the importance of Family. The writer deserves the credit, for bringing such a thoughtful, compelling story to viewers. This drama carried a meaningful message while giving us lots of entertaining and cute moments, and of course a sweet and satisfying finale. Definitely a must watch.
4. Hidden Identity
Kim Bum as Cha Gun Woo
Park Sung Woong as Jang Moo Won
Yoon So Yi as Jang Min Joo
Lee Won Jong as Choi Tae Pyung
My Short Review: Out of numerous excellent action packed series in 2015, Hidden Identity is the most profound. Honestly, I watched this drama because I was too bored and had nothing going on. I wasn’t expecting anything out of the top, but damn, this drama really blew my mind. The plot was good, I was hooked! This series kept me on the end of my seat from beginning to end. The fighting scenes were good. If you love action packed dramas, you should watch this. This is truly a gem.
My Short Review: No, I surely don't believe in ghost, but I enjoyed this piece of work. This is one of the few dramas I wish would never end. I cried my heart out with its finale, the emotions were so genuine, and how the goodbyes were beautifully done. This drama is almost perfect, well it sure had its share of missteps along the way, but I really don’t care. Oh My Ghost made me laugh, weep, and the story-line really warmed my heart. The actors and actresses portrayed their parts really well, not to mention they all have great chemistry. P.S. The bromance will make you giggle, and the kisses were so real. Haha! You better watch this, you’d definitely love it.
2. Kill Me, Heal Me
Ji Sung as Cha Do Hyun / Shin Se Gi / Perry Park / Ahn Yo Sub / Ahn Yo Na / Nana / Mysterious X
Hwang Jung Eum as Oh Ri Jin
Park Seo Joon as Oh Ri Ohn
Oh Min Suk as Cha Ki Joon
Kim Yoo Ri as Han Chae Yun
My Short Review: This is one of the most interesting dramas I’ve ever seen, and one of those dramas that made me weep. It’s a good kind of weird story line, very creative, full of heart and the characters are very well executed. Ji Sung truly took me on a roller coaster of emotions. Without a doubt, this is one of the better Ji Sung’s roles in the last couple of decades. I loved all the characters (personalities) he portrayed, I laughed and cried my eyes out because of them. This drama is great, and the finale was sweet and heartwarming. I can’t be more satisfied.
Hye Ri as Sung Deok Sun
Ryu Joon Yul as Kim Jung Hwan
Go Kyung Pyo as Sun Woo
Park Bo Gum as Taek
Lee Dong Hwi as Ryu Dong Ryong
A real piece of work. Only 2 more episodes to go, I hate to bid good bye to this wonderful show.
Honorable Mentions (in alphabetical order): A Girl Who Sees Smells, D-Day, Ho Goo's Love, I Remember You, Punch, Sassy Go Go, h My Venus, Scholar Who Walks the Night and of course, Who Are You - School 2015.
Thank you, as always and forever, for reading!
